Visualizing numbers, time, and space
Some students have a harder time visualizing numbers. That makes it hard to connect numbers and symbols, or to judge how long five minutes feels or what three feet looks like. Beyond math, it can show up as trouble with time management, with estimating speed or distance in sports, and with reading directions. We help students build visualization skills that strengthen number sense, logic, and planning.
Working memory and math facts
Beyond understanding concepts, efficient problem-solving takes fluency with basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division facts. Working memory lets a student hold information in mind long enough to perform an operation, apply a concept, or complete a step in a problem. We help students strengthen working memory and processing speed so basic operations become quicker and more fluent.
Executive functioning
Even a student with strong comprehension and mental math can struggle to break a problem into steps, show work in an organized way, or double-check answers. Executive function often decides whether a student can truly show what they know. We help students organize their work, slow down and reflect for accuracy, and break a task into smaller, manageable steps.
